Is it ok to make sex jokes to your girlfriend?

We both have health and when the teacher was talking about how to have sex I told my girlfriend, "You should listen so you don't mess up when we do it". We never had sex before and we are both 16. Is it ok to make these kind of jokes. I said other jokes before but I can't remember them.
