Is it true that for Koreans spending the night with a girl/boy is worse than having sex with them?

Last night I was watching a movie with my korean friend and we fell asleep. He woke up around 5:30 am freaking out! he said that spending the night with a girl was worse than having sex with her! is it true?! we're not sexually intimate by the way.
